Tools to Tech Logo Design
After deciding on a name for my company, I got to work on a logo. I wanted to combine graphic elements to show the different sides of my business, namely home improvement and technology, and I wanted it to come flying out of the page. With that as a starting point, I sketched the graphic on paper and in Photoshop, and then turned it into a vector graphic in Illustrator so it could be enlarged to any size. Back in Photoshop I colored it, added the lettering, made a trillion more adjustments and the logo was born!

First, a quick scribble to get the idea down on paper

Very rough sketch, different text placement

Took a reference photo of my drill using a fisheye lens for some extra flair

USB cable reference photo

Sketched with a digital pen

Traced the sketch with vector lines

Colored the artwork

Metal crosshatch for "TOOLS" texture

Circuitry for "TECH" texture

Closeup of the letters with textures applied

After many versions, this is the one I'm settling on for now!
